Ben Shenkman is currently shooting Mike Nichols' film of Angels in America for HBO playing the role of Louis. He appears in the soon-to-be-released Personal Velocity (Sundance 2002 winner). Other films include Requiem for a Dream, Jesus' Son, Pi, The Siege, Quiz Show, 30 Days and Thick As Thieves (HBO).
Ben originated the role of Hal in Proof on Broadway (Tony nomination, Best Featured Actor in a Play.) Other New York theater credits include The Deep Blue Sea (Broadway), Peter Hedges' Baby Anger (off Broadway) and Vanessa Redgrave's production of Antony and Cleopatra (off Broadway).
Television guest roles include Law and Order, Ed, NY Undercover, and Law and Order Special Victims Unit.
