Barbara Flynn (born 5 August 1948 in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, England) is a British actress. She became known for her appearances in several successful television comedy dramas during the 1980s. She tends to play, in her own words, "feisty strong women" (BBC interview).
Her father was a pathologist and she attended St Mary's School, Hastings. She then trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (where she was awarded the gold medal in 1968) before appearing in repertory theatre.
