Ashley Williams (born 12 November 1978 in Westchester County, New York, USA) is an American actress. Her father is a freelance medical journalist and her mother is a fundraiser for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. She is the younger sister of Kimberly Williams-Paisley, also an actress. Her older brother, Jay Williams, is a firefighter and paramedic in Southern California (Los Angeles County).
Williams attended Rye High School in Rye, New York. She has a bachelor of fine arts degree from Boston University’s theatre conservatory, having graduated in May, 2001.
She made her big screen acting debut alongside her sister in the 1993 ensemble comedy-drama Indian Summer.
Williams had a role in the television series Good Morning, Miami (2002–2004). Since then she has also appeared in episodes of How I Met Your Mother, E-Ring, Huff, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
In 2006, she starred in the play Burleigh Grime$.
