Ashley Rose Orr (born 11 November 1990 in Denville, New Jersey) is an American actress. She has four siblings - an older sister Jennifer, older brother Michael, younger brother Jordan and youngest brother Tyler.
Orr starred as Gretl on Broadway in The Sound of Music at the age of 6. She continued on Broadway in Les Miserables and in Annie Get Your Gun as Nellie Oakley. She has recorded numerous CDs. She can be heard on "The Girl Scout" CD, "American Girls" CD and "Broadway Kids" CD along with others. Orr was chosen in a national search of over 10,000 girls for the role of Shirley Temple in a Disney movie, The Shirley Temple Story (2001). She voiced Lucy Van Pelt in newer Peanuts specials.
Orr has recorded over 8 CD’s and has appeared in numerous national commercials, jingles and voice-overs in addition to singing two solos at The National Mother of the Year Awards at the Waldorf Hotel. When not entertaining, Orr enjoys bowling, gymnastics, swimming and biking. Her leisure time is spent with family and her pet kitten, Mable. Orr is home-schooled by her teacher mother and uses special computerized programs to maintain her high scholastic education.
Orr was chosen to perform on the new "Broadway Kids" CD "Hey Mr. DJ" Pop Album. In 2003, she starred in a movie alongside Penelope Ann Miller, called "Carry Me Home."
That same year, Ashley Rose Orr played one of three nearly identical Ashleys, in the spoofy, musical comedy, and experimental film, captured with the first successful use of real-time interactive 3D virtual set technology... Red Riding Hood (2004). The concept of shooting Red Riding Hood with at times marked, many-layered, high definition 3D stage scrims was inspired by the Director and digital film pioneer, Randal Kleiser.
About this same time, she found much demand to perform on a variety of television shows and create film voice overs.
