Armand Anthony Assante Jr. (born October 4, 1949, New York City, New York) is an Emmy Award-winning, Oscar-nominated American actor.
Assante was born to an Italian American father and an Irish American mother. His first major role was in 1974, in The Lords of Flatbush. His sinister look has made him a popular choice for villains and mobsters in movies and TV. His most famous film appearance have been The Mambo Kings opposite Antonio Banderas and the comic strip adaptation of Judge Dredd co-starring Sylvester Stallone. He guest starred in several episodes of NCIS, playing an international arms dealer.
He was married to Karen McArn until they separated in 1994. He lives in upstate New York and has two daughters, Anya and Alessandra.
