Amelia Warner Detailed Biography
Amelia Warner was born in Liverpool on 4th June 1982, the single child of her mother Annette Ekblom, who is also an actress. Shortly after Amelia Warner's birth her parents split. Amelia Warner has seen her father since but doesn't speak about him. At the age of four Amelia moved to London with her mother where her mother was often working at TV studios and theatre's. Amelia Warner learnt independence from an early age and she credits her mother as influencing her to be an actress, although she states she was "determined not to be an actress" until a few years ago. Her mother also discouraged her from acting but soon changed her mind when she won the title role in Lorna Doone.
Amelia Warner was "discovered" after she and her friends devised and acted out a play in Covent Garden where she was spotted by an agent and won a place at London Royal Court Theatre's Youth programme. Amelia Warner attended the Royal Masonic School for girls until the age of 16 and then went on to College of Fine Arts in London. However, her schools did not approve of her taking so much time off for her acting work and so was forced to study for a while at a college in Belisize Park. Amelia Warner had a string of television roles in TV drama's such as Casualty before making it big with Lorna Doone and the film Quills, which both came out in Christmas 2000.
It was around the time of this success that Amelia Warner met Colin Farrell, a fellow actor. Amelia Warner took 2001 off to spend time with Colin as he was filming Hart's War in Prague. On 17th July, Colin and Amelia Warner married on a beach in Tahiti, but unfotunately it wasn't to be and the couple split in late October 2001 after a year together. Both Colin and Amelia both have reminders of one another though in the form of tattoos around their ring fingers - Colin has "Milly" tatooed on his finger and Amelia Warner has "Colin" tattooed around hers. Things are looking bright for Amelia Warner again and she has finsihed filming two films - Nine Lives and Love's Brother - both of which released in late 2003.
