Alice Jane Evans (born August 2, 1971) is an actress, perhaps most widely recognised as the long-time fiance of Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd.
Evans, the daughter of educators, was born in the Summit, New Jersey, USA and grew up in Bristol. She graduated from University College London after studying French and Italian.
Evans had an eight-year relationship with Olivier Picasso, the grandson of painter Pablo Picasso. Evans has stated that she would have married Picasso if he had asked. Picasso later referred to his time with Evans as his Blue period.
Evans became engaged to Ioan Gruffudd in the early hours of New Year's Day 2006. They met during the production of 102 Dalmatians when Evans was still seeing Picasso. Gruffudd has stated that his proposal was prompted by Evans giving him an ultimatum.
She has attracted media commentary regarding her poor fashion choices.
Recently Gruffudd removed funding from his largest fan-site Ioanonline.com, as a result of comments made about Evans on the site and elsewhere. Evans also falsely claimed that a moderator of that site had vandalised her Wikipedia page and had threatened her well-being.This resulted in its closure due to termination of funding and support by Gruffudd on 30 April 2007.
